In the heart of Budapest, next to the Dohany Street synagogue there are mass graves containing victims of the Shoah who died in the ghetto. This cemetery is the most authentic Holocaust memorial in Hungary, despite the fact that it has never been designated as a Hungarian Holocaust Memorial. In the history or the garden the history of the Hungarian Jewish community and the history of the Kadár era are interwoven.

Budapest belvárosában, a Dohány utcai zsinagóga mellett a gettóban elhunytak tömegsírjai vannak. A temető Magyarország lehető legautentikusabb holokausztemlékműve, de mégsem lett a holokauszt magyarországi emlékhelye. A kert történetében egymásba fonodóan látható a magyarországi zsidó közösség és a Kádár-korszak Magyarországának története.
